How to Register for Classes

Students register directly in the UW Colleges PRISM self-service system for UW Colleges Online. We encourage you to review the Student Help Tutorials before registering, even if you have taken classes with us in the past. Registration dates and processes vary slightly based on your student registration category.

Payment Information

Your ONLINE registration is NOT complete and you do not have a seat in the course(s) until:

  • Your online tuition and fees are paid in full
    OR
  • For UWC degree-seeking students, the UW Colleges Online confirms that you have adequate financial aid to cover your Online tuition in full

Failure to meet this requirement will result in your removal from your course(s) when a course is full or at the close of registration. The $60 administrative fee is non-refundable after the last day of Online registration. You will NOT receive an invoice; please follow payment instructions carefully.

Important Registration Date Information

Registration for the Regular Academic Session is from Wednesday, November 11, 2009 to Thursday, January 07, 2010. No late online registrations will be accepted.

UW Colleges Online Degree-Seeking Students

If you are applying as a degree-seeking student, you are encouraged to apply as early as possible to allow adequate time for admissions and financial aid processing to occur (the application/financial aid process can take several weeks).

Students who apply after December 15th may still have time for admission and registration to process, however financial aid will most likely not be processed for students who are admitted close to the close of registration.

UW Colleges Online Special / Non-Degree Applicants

Your application must be submitted by Tuesday, January 5th. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.

UW Colleges Online will be closed on the following dates

  • Thursday, December 24th - Holiday
  • Friday, December 25th - Holiday
  • Thursday, December 31st - Holiday
  • Friday, January 1st - Holiday
  • Monday, January 4th - State-mandated furlough

Keep these dates in mind when applying for admission, the processing of financial aid, posting of any mail in payments, etc. Classes may close during these days, so we recommend you have your enrollment fully completed prior to December 24th.
